Mercury’s Fifth Annual Chili Cook-Off ends in first ever Golden Bowl double flusher

For the first time, the Golden Bowl has to be modified for dual capacity as two-time champion Bill Tallent, Jr. ties for first with Android Engineer Daniel Huckaby. Because of the unusual first place finish, the Silver Plunger goes unawarded. Meanwhile, the Bronze Roll has three masters as iOS Engineer Demetri Miller, Android VP of Engineering Kelly Merrell and iOS Engineer Ian Blue all tie for third.

Apple reveals iOS 8, OS X Yosemite with a redesigned interface inspired by iOS. The new programming language Swift was also introduced. Key consumer additions to iOS include Continuity, Spotlight Suggestions, Family Sharing and QuickType. Developers were given the ability to create widgets and custom keyboards for the system.
